Challenge
As avid travelers, we often plan trips with friends. This past summer, while organizing a trip to Seattle, we bounced between YouTube's top-10 lists, scattered blogs, and—my favorite—reruns of Anthony Bourdain’s shows. Bourdain’s recommendations offered rare, subjective insights from a kindred spirit—something I deeply value in travel planning. As we lamented how many of his featured spots are becoming outdated, we asked ourselves:
What if
There is a single platform where you could discover meaningful travel insights from like-minded explorers you trust, offering that same sense of connection and authenticity?
Research
Research into travelers’ planning habits shows that 48% start by seeking recommendations from family and friends, 42% rely on random Google searches across blogs, and 38% turn to social media influencers.
Despite this, sharing travel recommendations remains fragmented.People rely on scattered tools to exchange ideas, from conversations and text messages to Google or Notion documents and shared Google Maps.
None of these methods makes it easy to curate, share, or maintain a cohesive list of recommendations. As a result, travelers often have to piece together resources and manually organize them, making location discovery and trip planning a cumbersome process rather than an exciting experience.
